Now it is our turn.we can't just sit here and wait for something to happen, we have to make a move. In hopes that you have realized that food deserts are not a game and that we should make a difference. A great idea would be a "Farmers Market on Wheels" (F.M.O.W) This is a convenient way to not have to constantly destroy and build a facility for an area for grocery shopping. This FMOW would be able to travel from community to community to make a difference. This would help also in the future with our children not being born into obesity and making healthy food a habit.

In Southeastern San Diego, local residents are forming a beat up, 20,000-Square-foot urban lot into a area of healthy foods, for an area that lacks supermarkets and farmers markets. The Ocean View Growing Grounds offers a gathering place for people to grow food, socialize with their neighbors and hold events.
This lot is located in the Chollas Creek Watershed where poverty, obesity and environmental degradation have a serious social and environmental health problems. Causing these problems is the lack of access to fresh fruits and vegetables. Neighbor are partnering with non-profit organizations, researchers and students to address these problems and come up with a solution.
